Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic or psychoanalytic therapy (PT) is based on the premise that people are largely unaware of the underlying forces and unresolved issues in their lives that are causing their current suffering. People are typically aware of their clinical symptoms or negative emotions that make them unhappy, while unconscious conflicts primarily fuel these. PT helps a person uncover these unresolved conflicts and gain more insight into the cause of their problems. Negative patterns, emotions, and symptoms can be addressed and overcome when unconscious processes are revealed and understood.
