About MVA Services

At Mills Gosse Psychology, we are here to help MVA victims. If injured in an MVA, you may be entitled to treatment and support through your insurer. In addition to pain and physical injuries, psychological symptoms and impairments following MVAs can be common. Some symptoms may include anxiety or depression, fears related to driving or re-injury, sleeplessness, irritability or anger, social challenges, and being unable to return to work or other important activities.

If you have an MVA claim and are seeking psychological services, we will contact your insurer on your behalf to determine if you are covered for services. We will begin with a brief consultation with you to determine your needs. Following this, once approved, an initial assessment will be conducted in-person or virtually by secure video with one of our clinicians. Once approved, we will provide psychological treatment services funded by your insurer to address your MVA injuries and impairments. All along the way, we will help you navigate the MVA system and provide you with additional information and support.

Psychological treatment services may be conducted by qualified therapists under supervision, and may not be performed by a psychologist directly. While this is a common and widely accepted practice, some insurance plans do not cover such services; therefore, you must inquire with your insurance provider to determine coverage.

Appointments:

  • Therapy appointments can be held in-person, by phone or virtually by secure video.

  • We offer services promptly and typically do not hold waitlists.

  • Our head office is in Ajax, Ontario, and we have a dedicated team of clinicians serving clients at other locations in Oshawa, Whitby, Peterborough, Mississauga and Hamilton.

Fees, Payments & Insurance Coverage:

  • If approved, the initial assessment is covered by the insurance company.

  • Please note: In accordance with the Insurance Act in Ontario, it is mandatory to utilize your extended health benefits to their maximum extent before any charges can be billed to your auto insurance policy. This is only applicable to therapy sessions.
