We retain client records in accordance with professional regulations:
For adults: at least 10 years from the date of the last contact
For minors: at least 10 years after the day the client would have turned 18
When records are no longer required, they are securely destroyed (e.g., shredding paper records, permanently deleting electronic files).
5. Safeguards and Protection
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information, including:
Storing paper records in secure, locked areas.
Protecting electronic records with strong encryption, passwords, and secure servers located in Canada, where possible.
Restricting access to personal information to authorized staff and contractors who have signed confidentiality agreements.
Training our clinicians and staff in privacy and confidentiality practices.

You have the right to:
Access your personal health record (with limited exceptions provided by law).
Request corrections to information in your record.

Requests for access or correction must be made in writing. We may ask you to provide identification and reserve the right to charge standard fees, as set out by our regulator bodies.
