Mills Psychology & Associates are a dedicated team of mental health professionals who provide quality psychological consultation, assessment, therapy, and
treatment to adults, adolescents, couples, organizations, children, and their families in need of guidance, mental healthcare, and counselling services.
Each professional is highly trained and qualified in their area of expertise, holds appropriate credentials or licensure, follows guidelines for evidence-based practice,
and are under the clinical direction of Dr. Mills.
Jon Mills, Psy.D., Ph.D., C.Psych., ABPP is a board certified clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst, Diplomate with the American Board of Professional
Psychology, and a registered psychologist in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. He is Professor of Psychology
& Psychoanalysis at the Adler Graduate Professional School in Toronto, Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology, Fellow of the Academy of Psychoanalysis, and holds six university
and post-graduate degrees including two doctorates, as well as post-doctoral training and
international scholarly recognition. Dr. Mills received his Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional
Psychology in Chicago, his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Toronto
and York University. With over twenty years of clinical experience, he specializes in the assessment and treatment of many psychological disorders upon which
he is widely published. He is Fellow and Past-President of the Section on Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychology of the Canadian Psychological Association, Editor of
two international book series, and author or editor of over one-hundred publications including twelve books. In 2006, he was
recognized with a Gradiva Award from the Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis in New York City for his scholarship, and
in 2008 was given a Significant Contribution to Canadian Psychology Award by the Section on Psychoanalytic and
Psychodynamic Psychology of the Canadian Psychological Association.
He is the only psychologist in Canada with double board certification in clinical

John Kovac, M.A., RMFT, IABMCP, is a psychotherapist and
counsellor working with children,
adolescents, adults, couples, and families. He is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist
with the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and is a Diplomate in Psychotherapy and
Counseling with the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling, and Psychotherapy (IABMCP). He received his Master of
Arts in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, and is a clinical member of both the
American Association for Marriage
and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists ((C)OACCPP).
His areas of expertise include relationship
adjustments, family-conflict resolution, parenting issues, parental alienation & family restructuring,
anxiety, stress, depression, anger, trauma, substance abuse, fetal alcohol syndrome, pain management, and OCD.
He has a full playroom for children and uses attachment based approaches, sand therapy, art, and play. Clinical services are provided
in four languages including
English, Serbian, Hungarian, and Croatian.
Andrea Cain, M.A., AAMFT is a psychotherapist who specializes in the treatment of children, teens, couples, and families.
She received her Master of Arts in mental health therapy from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her graduate level Certificate in Marriage
and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph. She is a clinical member of both the American Association for Marriage
and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and the Ontario
Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). She specializes in treating children,
youth, adolescents, adults, couples,and families dealing with a variety psychological challenges.
She has a full play room and her areas of expertise in working with children and autistic disorders
include attachment approaches, clinical music therapy, art,
and play.
Susan Reed, M.Ed., IABMCP is a psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults, couples, and adolescents.
She received her Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology & Human Relations from Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax,
is a Diplomate in Psychotherapy and Counseling with the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling, and Psychotherapy (IAMCP), and
is a clinical member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists ((C)OACCPP).
She primarily works from a cognitive-behavioural therapy model and specializes in treating individuals and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, phobias, relationship and sexual
issues, pain management, eating disorders, OCD, and parenting concerns. She provides clinical services in both English and French.
Scott Gosse, M.A. is a psychotherapist, psychometrist, & Clinical Manager at Mills Psychology. He received his Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology
from the Adler School of Professional Psychology and is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants,
Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). He conducts psychological and psychoeducational
assessments and specializes in treating individuals, adolescents, and couples dealing with anxiety, depression, stress,
trauma, chronic pain, anger, addictions, sleep disorders, and relationship difficulties.
Janna Comrie, M.A. is both a psychotherapist and cognitive researcher. She received her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School
of Professional Psychology in Chicago and is a doctoral candidate in Brain, Behaviour, and Cognitive Sciences at York University in Toronto. She is a registered member with the Ontario
Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP) and specializes in treating youth,
adults, couples, and families
dealing with a variety of adjustment, relationship, and psychological challenges including difficulties with communication, boundaries,
stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual issues, addictions
or substance abuse, sleep problems, and eating disorders.
Derek Wright, MSW, RSW,
is a psychotherapist, counsellor, and marriage and family therapist working with children, adolescents, adults, couples,
and families. He has his Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto and is a Registered Social Worker
with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Derek has extensive clinical experience and specializes in
working with clients with a wide range of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, addiction, anger management, sexual and physical abuse,
domestic violence, trauma, grief, parenting, couple and family conflict, and separation and divorce.
Denise Handy, M.Div. has a Master of Divinity degree in Counselling from Tyndale University College and Seminary in Toronto.
A member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP), she is widely recognized for her expertise in anger management for children,
youth, and adults. Her counselling practice includes individual, couples, and family therapy, and deals with such areas as self-esteem, communication, assertiveness, grief, depression,
trauma, substance abuse, marital issues, parenting, and developmental and behavioural issues in children.
Karen Hurley, MSW, RSW, RMFT,
is a psychotherapist, counsellor, and marriage and family therapist working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, a clinical member of the American Association
for Marriage and Family Therapy, and is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist
with the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She has her Masters degree in Social Work from
the University of Toronto and a certificate in couples therapy from Harvard Medical School.
Areas of expertise include relationship issues, communication problems, separation and divorce, work-related stress, health and disability,
anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, family violence, substance abuse and addiction, and bereavement and loss.
Matteo Renelli, M.A. is a psychotherapist and human resources consultant. He received his Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of
Professional Psychology and is currently a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology. He is certified in the areas of change management, predictive behaviour
assessments, conflict resolution, group facilitation, and human resources consulting. He is a member of several professional psychotherapy and psychological
associations and specializes in treating individuals and couples dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, and parenting challenges.
He provides clinical services in both English and Italian.
Lori Dennis, M.A. is a psychotherapist and marriage and family counsellor. She received her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School
of Professional Psychology in Chicago and is a registered member with the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy
(OAMFT), and the Ontario
Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). She specializes in treating
adults, couples, teens, children,
and families dealing with a variety of adjustment, relationship, and psychological challenges including difficulties with
anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, marital conflict, anger, eating disorders, loneliness, loss, and women's issues. She also gives professional workshops, is a television guest,
and published author.
Andrew Guthrie, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist, couples counsellor, and family
therapist. He received his diploma in child and adolescent psychotherapy from the Toronto Child Psychoanalytic Program,
and was awarded his doctorate from the University of Toronto. He is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists,
and Psychotherapists (OACCPP) and is currently a candidate at the Toronto Institute
for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. He specializes in the treatment of adults, children, adolescents, couples, and families who present
with a wide range of problems including ADHD, aggression, mood disturbance, and oppositionality in children, as well as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma,
and relationship or work difficulties in adults.
Alla Arshakyan, M. Ed., M.A. provides therapy for
different age groups including adults, couples, children, and families. She received her Master of Arts degree in
Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University, a Master of Education degree in Psycholinguistics from Yerevan State Linguisitc University, and is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and
Psychotherapists (OACCPP). She treats a wide range of psychological problems such as depression,
anxiety, panic, personality disorders, sexual problems, sleep disturbances, and cognitive impairments. Alla also conducts therapy for
adjustment disorders and promotes psychosocial rehabilitation after major health events. She has extensive experience working with children
and parents and intervenes with behavioural problems, self-esteem issues, parenting skills development, and provides conflict resolution.
She also offers an effective stress management program based on specific relaxation techniques and mindfulness meditation.
Her individually tailored approach to treatment utilizes a variety of counselling methodologies including Gestalt techniques,
cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, brief solution-focused counselling, narrative therapy, and neurolinquistic programing.
Clinical services are provided in English, Russian, and Armenian.
Keith Haartman, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst. He is on Faculty of the Toronto
Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis and teaches in both the Department of Religious Studies and the Program for Professional
Writing and Communications at the University of Toronto. He received his doctorate from the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Toronto Institute
for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. He offers short and long term individual psychotherapy for both adults and adolescents, as well as intensive psychoanalysis.
His clinical work spans across a range of problems including anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem difficulties, anger, trauma, and sexual issues.
He further specializes in the psychology of religion and is the author of numerous publications in psychoanalysis, spirituality, and religion.
Dawn Zivanovich, MSW, RSW is a social worker,
psychotherapist, couples and family counsellor, and certified EMDR Therapist. She received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto
and is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has extensive experience working with children, youth, adults,
couples, and families, and specializes in grief and bereavement, abuse and trauma, relationship issues, depression and anxiety,
separation and divorce, parenting issues, addictions, and critical incident stress interventions. She further provides specialized EMDR and sex therapy,
and conducts assessments and treatment in English and Serbo-Croatian.
Robin Khangura, M.Sc. is a counsellor, psychotherapist, and psychometrist who specializes in the treatment of adults, couples,
adolescents, children, and their families.
She received her Master of Science degree in mental
health counselling from Niagara University and is a certified member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors,
Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). She conducts
post-MVA psychological assessments and provides cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), anger management counselling, marital therapy,
and culturally sensitive
intervention. She treats self-esteem issues, anxiety, stress, depression, alcohol and addiction problems, works with families
around abuse and domestic violence, and provides family-conflict resolution and parenting intervention. Clinical services are conducted in English, Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu.
Susan Armitage, M.Div. has a Master of Divinity degree in Counselling from Tyndale University College and Seminary
in Toronto and is a member of the American Association for Marriage
and Family Therapists (AAMFT). She works with adults, youth, couples, and families on communication skills, assertiveness, parenting concerns,
self-esteem issues, anxiety/panic, depression, and offers grief therapy. She has a particular focus on anger management counselling, abuse/trauma recovery
(i.e, physical, emotional and spiritual abuse), post-abortion counselling, and conducts assessments in the post-MVA rehabilitation field.
Linda Attoe, M.A. is a psychotherapist and counsellor. She is a registered clinical member of the
Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists [(C)OACCPP] and currently is a senior psychoanalytic candidate
at the Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. Linda received her Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional
Psychology and is a graduate of the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. She offers short and long-term psychotherapy for children, adolescents,
adults, couples, and families who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, or other life struggles.
Paul Morgan, M.A. is a psychotherapist, counsellor, and executive coach.
He received his Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology
and is a registered clinical member with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors,
Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists [(C)OACCPP]. Paul’s areas of expertise include individual and couples psychotherapy and counselling for a variety
of personal difficulties. He also has comprehensive training in handling diverse people issues
within organizations, including executive and leadership development, coaching and mentoring, as well as culture change and business development.
His grounding in mental health services coupled with an extensive business background enables him to generate unique perspectives on life’s challenges.
Lori Ralko, M.A. is a psychotherapist who works with
individual adults in downtown Toronto. She has an M.A. in Psychoanalysis
from Middlesex University and is a candidate at the Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis (TICP). She is also a doctoral candidate
in Existential Psychotherapy and Counselling at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling and is a member of the Ontario
Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). Lori’s approach to therapy focuses on exploring
the connections between past experiences and current challenges in life, work, and relationships – a process which can be especially
helpful for those going through transitions such as relationship endings, career change, mid-life crisis, and retirement. She also has
a special interest in working with people who experience anxiety, obsessive thoughts, low self-esteem, and sexual issues.
Susan Blackburn, M.A. is a psychotherapist, counsellor, and relationship coach.
She is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP) and has a Masters degree in
Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology. Her therapeutic approach integrates cognitive behavioural (CBT), client-centred, Adlerian, and
solution-focused methods. Areas of expertise include treating relationships, confidence-building, stress management, anger, depression, anxiety, grief, addictions,
self-esteem, conflict resolution, communication, and work/life balance.
Karen McEwen, M.Ed. is a psychotherapist, psychometrist, and counsellor working with adults, adolescents, and children
for the over ten years. She received her Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology from Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax,
is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP), and is a certified examiner
with the Organic Brain Dysfunction Clinical Registry. She works in the post-MVA rehabilitation field, conducts psychological and
psychovocational assessments, and provides therapeutic intervention and support services for foster children and their families. She
is an autism consultant and specializes in equine assisted psychotherapy and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders.
Leslie Born, Ph.D. is a psychotherapist and health counsellor who works with individuals, couples, and families.
She has a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Niagra University, a Ph.D. in Medical Science from the University of Toronto, and
is a clinical member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists ((C)OACCPP).
Her therapeutic areas of expertise include emotional problems related to menstrual cycles, childbearing, and menopause. Leslie has gained a reputation as an
effective therapist for women who have experienced pregnancy loss or a complicated delivery. Her counselling practice includes both women and men experiencing
chronic illness, life role changes, grief, traumatic stress, marital or family conflict, and recovery from burnout. She is a part-time Assistant Professor at McMaster University
serving as a supervisor for psychiatric residents, is on Adjunct Faculty at Brock University, and is a Senior Lecturer at Niagara University.
Irene Mellas, MSW, RSW,
is a psychotherapist, clinical social worker, and rehabilitation consultant working with individuals and families.
She received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto and is a Registered Social Worker with the
Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
She is culturally sensitive in her clinical approach and
works primarily from cognitive-behavioural, insight-oriented, psychodynamic,
and mindfulness-based therapy models specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship
difficulties, anger management, rehabilitation/health recovery, and grief and bereavement counselling. Clinical services are conducted
in English and Greek.
Lorraine Franco-Sham, MSW, RSW,
is a psychotherapist, counsellor, and marriage and family therapist working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
She has her Masters degree in Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University, is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario
College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and is a licensed Private Adoption Practitioner. Areas of expertise
include treating children with anxiety, ADHD, and trauma, separation, divorce, and family restructuring,
parenting issues, relationship difficulty and infidelity, adoption, and stress and depression in adults.
Catherine Migliore Hart, M.S.W, RSW, has a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto, is registered with the Ontario College
of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. She works with adults, teenagers, and children
in the post-rehabilitation field and specializes in treating trauma, burn victims, sexual assault/abuse, domestic violence, crime and victimization, and conducts MVA
assessments. Her clinical orientation relies heavily on cognitive behavioural therapy and solution-focussed techniques.
Lesley Hannell, M.A. is a psychotherapist and counsellor who works with individuals, couples, and families.
She has a Masters degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph, postgraduate training with
the Canadian Association of Transactional Analysis, and is a certified clinical member with the Ontario Society of
Psychotherapists. She specializes in treating relationship issues, communication and conflict resolution, separation and divorce,
parenting and blended families, stress management, anxiety, depression, grief, and loss. She also incorporates energy psychology,
meditation, and Eastern philosophies in her clinical practice with those seeking a balance between mind, body, and spirit.
Shelley Ferris, M.Sc. is a psychotherapist and psychometrist. She received her Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Niagara University
and is a registered member with the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors,
Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). Shelley works in the post-MVA field providing psychological assessments and therapy.
Her therapeutic orientation is largely in the cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic traditions and she works with clients suffering from mood disorders,
anxiety, addiction problems, bereavement, and terminal illness.
René Estella, B.A. is a vocational rehabilitation specialist, career counsellor, and psychometrist. She received her Bachelor of Arts
degree in psychology from York University, and graduated from the York
University/Seneca Program in Rehabilitation Services. She is a member of the Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada
and conducts vocational and rehabilitation evaluations, MVA assessments, and
provides vocational rehabilitation services to individuals and corporate organizations.
She specializes in vocational assessment, career transitions and retraining,
job search training skills, conducts labour market research, transferable skills analysis, and provides direction
and guidance to those reentering the workforce.
Linda Farrell, M.A., RMFT is a psychotherapist who specializes in the treatment of children, teens, couples, and families.
She received her Master of Arts in Social Sciences with an emphasis in Counselling from the University of Guelph, is a
Registered Marriage and Family Therapist with the Ontario Association for Marriage
and Family Therapy, and a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage
and Family Therapists (AAMFT). With over 15 years of experience, Linda's areas of expertise include child & teen issues, marital & family conflict resolution,
parenting difficulties, trauma & abuse, and mental health concerns. When working with children, Linda utilizes a creative arts approach which includes play,
art, and psychoeducation to assist with healthy adaptation. Her work with teens, adults, and couples takes a positive focused approach
utilizing psychoeducation, problem solving, and goal setting to work towards change.
Carol Beeton, M.Div. has a Master of Divinity degree in Counselling from Tyndale University College and Seminary
in Toronto. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists
(OACCPP) and specializes in anger management counselling with children, youth, and adults. She further provides
spiritual support and guidance.
